Before and After School Club

Before and After School Club is for all children attending Troon Primary School from Reception to Year 6.

Where will the Club actually take place?

The Club is usually based in the school hall although sometimes the children will play outside or use another classroom. Access to the hall is through the back entrance for parents dropping off or collecting their child.

When is the Before School Club open

It runs from 8.00-8.45 am every school day apart from Inset Days.  At 8.45 a.m, children go straight to their classrooms.

What breakfast is provided?

It is often said that breakfast is the most important meal of the day.  The Breakfast Club provides your child with a healthy range of food, including cereals, toast, crumpets, yoghurt, fruit, fruit juice and milk.  Breakfast is a calm and social time and the children will eat together at a table.

When is the After School Club open?

It runs from 3.10 - 5.30p.m Mon-Thu and 3.10 - 4.15pm on Fridays.  Afterschool club is not offered on Inset Days.

What snack is provided?

Your child will be provided with a healthy snack if they are attending After School Club. This may include toast, yoghurt, fruit, cheese and crackers, wraps, fruit juice or milk.  Snack time is a calm and social time and the children will eat together at a table.

What else goes on?

The children are free to choose from a range of supervised activities, including board games, construction, art, outside play etc.  While a key benefit of the club is to provide an opportunity for positive social interaction, the children may also choose to quietly read or receive some support with completing their homework.

Does my child need to go every day?

No. You can pick and choose the days.

What supervision is there?

Our fully trained and experienced staff strive to ensure the club feels like home from home and are fully committed to providing the children with a positive and calm environment. They will make sure there are suitable areas for your child/children to work, rest or play after a busy day at school.

How many places are available?

Places are limited.  This is to ensure that your child has a safe and enjoyable time.  Places are allocated on a first-come-first served basis.

If you have any queries at all, please do contact me.  The Before and After School Club is set-up to meet the needs of both you and your child/children.  We will work hard to meet those needs.
