Rethink Periods

As part of the statutory RSE curriculum, Year 5 and 6 pupils participate in lessons written for young people to support them in understanding puberty and periods. These lesson provide the advice and knowledge to enable your child to better understand menstruation, as well as exploring the myths and taboos surrounding menstruation, period poverty and environmental implications. As well as exploring body literacy, the pupils will learn about all the various products available, including reusables and disposables. (We even have some discount codes we can share).

We know menstruation is a subject that’s often filled with confusion for young people and it can be difficult to separate the fact from the fiction, to make well-informed choices and to have the opportunity to ask and answer questions in a safe environment. That’s why it is important to us that these lessons are unbiased, age-appropriate, and encourage open, respectful and honest conversations.
