Onjali Rauf Class
Welcome to Onjali Rauf Class we are Year 6 with Miss Semmens and Mrs Mills.
We have enjoyed learning about our the author in our class name and our current class reader is The Boy at the Back of the Class.
Our PE days are Thursdays and Friday but we need our PE kit in everyday in case of any changes. We need to bring in our home-school diary every day and read at home at least 3 times a week and get our diary signed to earn stars towards prizes and tea parties. We need to bring in our blue spelling book every day and our weekly spelling test is each Friday and we will stick in our new set then too. We also have our half termly KIRFs to practise regularly at home and this first half of the Autumn term they are all the multiplication and division facts up to 12 x 12.
Our Autumn term topic is 'How did World War One Lead to World War Two' building on our WW2 learning in Year 3. Across the topic we will be studying War Horse, War Game and Private Peaceful and be studying a range of historic sources to learn about:
- key figures during the war
- timeline of chronological events
- trench conditions
- WW1 and WW2 artists
- Propaganda posters
- Designing and making our own tanks
In science we have enjoyed planning and carrying out lots of investigations involving different forces; exploring air resistance, water resistance, gravity and friction.
