Onjali Rauf Class

Welcome to Onjali Rauf Class we are a Year 6 class with Miss Semmens and Mrs Mills. We have enjoyed learning about the author who inspired our class name; we have read 'The Boy at the Back of the Class' and our current class read is 'The Night Bus Hero.'

Our PE days are Thursday and Friday but we need our PE kit in school everyday in case of any changes. We also need to bring in our home-school diary every day and read at home at least 3 times a week. It is important to get our diary signed to earn stars towards prizes and tea parties! We need to bring in our home-school spelling book every day; our weekly spelling test is on a Friday and we will stick in our new set of spellings then too. We have our half termly Maths KIRFs to practise regularly at home.

Our Autumn term topic was 'How did World War One Lead to World War Two?' and we enjoyed a trip to Bodmin Keep. Our Spring term topic is ‘Can We Make a Difference?’ We are exploring climate change and our impact on the world and we will be exploring the following topics:

  • Potential causes of climate change
  • Greenhouse gases
  • Natural disasters and climate change
  • Latitude and longitude
  • Making our own biomes
  • Making our own globes in DT
  • Climate change inspired artwork

In Science this Spring term we have been learning how to classify living things and how living things have evolved.
