Art

At Troon School, our Art curriculum aims to inspire creativity, imagination and confidence in every child. We follow the National Curriculum to ensure pupils develop strong skills in drawing, painting, sculpture and other artistic techniques, while learning about a diverse range of artists and cultural traditions.

Our curriculum is carefully sequenced from the early years onwards, helping children build practical skills, develop knowledge about art and artists, and understand how to discuss and evaluate artwork. We want pupils to explore ideas, experiment with materials and express themselves through their artwork.

Through rich experiences, opportunities to practise and revisit skills, and exposure to high‑quality examples of art, we ensure that all children can create, reflect and enjoy art as an important part of their education and personal development.
